Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My ultimate goal is to get my students ready for middle school by giving them the tools that they need to compete with other students in this computer literate society. Their future teachers will expect them to be able to complete assignments with a word processing program or power point program.

I have twenty-seven highly motivated students who crave knowledge buy unfortunately many of my students do not have access to today's technology.

We are a Title 1 school and all of our students receive free lunch so if you can imagine, most of my student's families want the best for their child, but may unfortunately not have the resources to provide them with the necessary technology that they need.

My Project

Our school recently was provided with wi-fi access, but unfortunately our computers are so outdated that the few that we have cannot connect to this wi-fi. Without wi-fi, we cannot connect to the "World, Wide, Web," and thus cannot do research for reports or access wonderful learning programs such as Brain Pop which the school has a paid subscription for. The word processing and power point programs are a little outdated with the 2003 versions. I feel it's time to upgrade and to prepare my students for the next challenge in their academic lives.

Your donation will open an academic door to my students.

As you know, technology is rapidly evolving and my students need to be able to adapt and change with it. With updated essential programs such as word and power point, I will be able to level the academic playing field by exposing them to the current versions. With these six computers my students can finally be able to do research and access learning websites anytime in class instead of only getting the chance once a week in our computer lab. Thank you!
