Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds from around the globe and attend a high poverty school. I feel they should have the advantages that would be in an affluent school. They are second language learners and work exceptionally hard to acquire speaking and reading skills.
These amazing students love to learn and need to be reached in a variety of different ways.
They are fun, creative, questioners and dreamers. I want my students to be challenged and to have high-quality and high-interest materials to engage them and help them be knowledgeable about life outside of our city.
My Project
Reading Charlie and The Chocolate Factory every year to my students is so rewarding! They love this book. This year I would like to give a copy to each of my students to enjoy at home.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and giving a favorite book will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
I know my students will love getting their own copy of this fabulous book.
