Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my 10th year teaching and I love everything about it! My students become family! Growing up, I didn't have it all. My family struggled to get by which made me stronger to made sure I made something out of it. Teaching was my passion, especially teaching kids like me growing up. Most of my students come from poverty, where coming to school is safe, warm, and sometimes the only time they feel loved and appreciated. That is my goal every day!

My Project

Flexible Seating has been a huge hit in my class. My students are more focused, love having options to sit where they want when they want. Completion of weekly work and quiz scores have improved! I hear my students sharing their excitement for flexible seating to other kids and have even had parents come in wondering what their children are talking about when they hear wobble chairs, floor mats, yoga balls. The floor seating has been my most popular form of flexible seating and I feel like these floor desk would be a perfect pairing with my rugs and pillows!
