My Project

I believe wholeheartedly in the benefits of choice reading. The only way students can improve vocabulary and reading efficiency and speed is consistently reading. The only way to get students to consistently read is to allow them to choose those books. In my classroom, students are able to read a book of their choosing every day for 20 minutes. I have found that students don't dislike reading; they just haven't had someone take the time to help them find the right books for them. Please help me continue to add high-interest books to my classroom library so all of my students can grab a read in which they feel represented and heard.
