This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Citizen scientists is how I describe my scholars. As a science educator at I see my students as part of the present and future scientific community. Each day they show me a willingness to persevere through real world problems that impact their environments that are similar to actual challenges scientists and engineers face in today’s workforce. The majority of students are from diverse families who live in or near our inner city neighborhood school’s community. 57.5% of students are considered as coming from low income environments. 2.5% students are recognized as being homeless.
Students are eager to use the newest technologies that Apple has to offer and binoculars that will give them a better view of nature's outdoor spaces and animal inhabitants.
We hope to use our newly purchased technology to contribute to our environmental science education and share our outdoor experiences with the rest of our school community, through various communication options we can access using our Apple devices and accessories.
Our school promotes interests in careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
