This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are determined to sing perform and seize opportunities that will impact their life forever. They come from diverse backgrounds within and urban setting, where their access to higher education is rare and often unsupported. Options to broaden their experiences are limited and often unfulfilled.

So we SING for our future.

Providing cultural, vocal and life lessons are essential to my students and their future goals. They spend over 10 hours a week practicing vocal theory and instruction. Their song selections are very diverse in cultural and ethical awareness. They crave a challenge and work hard to achieve theirs goal. My students aspire to make an impact within the vocal profession after high school so They SING!

My Project

The materials will help to promote academic excellence and cultural awareness through the arts while traveling to Italy. Also it would challenge students both academically and creatively while traveling abroad. It would provide students with life long lessons in the arts. It would also provide compelling experiences and opportunities for the diverse Camden City student population in order for them to be empowered in their pursuit of sustained academic excellence through the arts.

Supporting every student to have a safe and positive experience is the Lifetime goal of all teachers.
