My Students

The students I serve possess varying levels of cognitive disabilities, ranging from severely low to moderate academic and attention skills. They are performing at levels below their current grades. They require instructions that are accommodated to meet their needs and abilities.

My learners are exceptional because, despite their individual disabilities and challenges, they continue to invest in the effort needed to complete their school day.

The diverse learners in my classroom benefit from an extensive list of modifications to their instructions, including the use of visual cues. The students show their willingness to engage in instruction and complete their assignments, especially when visual aids are provided. The students prefer when the learning materials are visually pleasing, and created with their interest in mind. This allows the students to acquire the skills that will eventually lead to incredible learning and positive outcomes.

My Project

The resources from this project aims to serve a diverse group of students in a middle school classroom. The printer will be used to assist with the creation of classroom materials including charts, reference cards, mathematical tools, students' worksheets, and other resources. The materials created will be used to foster student engagement, interest and participation. In addition, homework and other essential communication for home engagement will be created.

The students will be able to engage their visual intellect to acquire the skills they need to show academic gains.

The color prints will provide the consistency that is needed for the student to adjust from a color rich digital screen to printed materials and vice versa. It is imperative, that students who depend heavily on visual aids to enhance their skills be given materials that represent the world in which they live and grow – colorful.
