One of our favorite moments so far was during a hydroponics and plant care activity, where students used the bowls for salads, gloves, and cleaning supplies to safely prepare and handle materials. The blender has also been a fun and engaging addition, and we used it to mix nutrient solutions and connect it to how materials can be broken down in science. The dry erase markers and laminating pouches have allowed me to create reusable visual supports, which is especially helpful for my students who benefit from repetition and structure. When the materials arrived, my students were genuinely excited. The headphones were a huge hit, helping students stay focused and feel more comfortable during independent work, and even simple items like new markers and sharpened pencils brought a sense of pride and ownership in the classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are continuing to build on our hydroponics curriculum by having students take more ownership of the process. They will be responsible for measuring, mixing, and monitoring plant nutrients using the tools provided, as well as tracking plant growth and recording observations on laminated data sheets that can be reused daily. Students will also begin working in small groups to design their own plant care routines and reflect on what helps plants grow best.
