Theatre students at our high school are what make my job great! They have such a passion for theatre arts. Unfortunately, the program has suffered much in the past due to inconsistencies in drama teachers. My students have a strong desire to want to get the program back on its feet and make it great as it once was!
In the words of Shakespeare, "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." My students are a profound example of achieving greatness.
They have the talent and skill in order to be successful in the theatre arts and any profession they choose to pursue.
My students are like my family. I want what is best for them in all they do. They are such a great group of kids who deserve so much!
My Project
My students learn skills every day that help them become better technical theatre creators. However, without the necessary tools, it becomes virtually impossible to succeed. Recently, we had one of our major tools short circuit, and thereby rendering it useless to us.
We need a new table saw with the needed safety equipment in order to build sets, props, and stage pieces.
Without this equipment, we cannot bring quality productions to our community and build upon our program that we have worked so hard to restore.
With your help we can use this saw in order to build a large set for "The Addams Family" coming up this February. The also will build theatrical set pieces called periaktois, which are a three sided moving stage piece for "Charley's Aunt". We are so excited to bring these shows to you and thank you for your donation.
