My Students
My third grade students are such resilient, eager, forgiving, and hardworking individuals. Despite all the challenges they are up against in these trying times of Covid-19, which began abruptly with multiple earthquakes in their neighborhood, they don't ever give up.
Their eagerness to learn and try new things has inspired me to become better at providing them with learning opportunities that I am unfamiliar with.
With an extremely wide range of socioeconomic statuses, many of my students who need the most help are left to fend for themselves while navigating the assignments I post for them on our Google Classroom. However; they continue to do their personal best and do the best that they can and I want to be able to do more for them.
My Project
My project goal is to improve all aspects of learning currently taking place in my hybrid classroom! I do a lot of work and preparation from home for both modalities and don't have what I need to make sure that each plan becomes a success.
When I found out I was going to teach in person AND distance, I had to beg, borrow, and trade in order to get what I needed to work from home.
My current home technology is lacking what I need to do my best for my students, but I do have to work from home. There just aren't enough hours in they school day to accomplish everything there.
With the dual monitors and a document camera, I could prepare better lessons that what I am accomplishing now in less than half the time.
Parents, students, and myself would feel a great relief from the stress and sometimes frustration that we feel when my efforts don't turn out as planned due to my personal technology used while planning.
