My Project

All students deserve access to engaging, exciting, and effective reading instruction. With everything that has happened in the past 2 years, students have stayed resilient and showed up to learn. This is my first year at my school working as a Reading Specialist serving 3rd-5th grade students. I feel responsible for making their instruction as interesting as possible, because they truly deserve it! Each student that I work with is unique and I my goal is to find new ways to help them reach their fullest potential via small group instruction.

These materials and tools that I have selected will be helpful to my instruction to help build foundational reading skills when learning how to read.

Teaching phonics and foundational skills through hands-on learning activities and games will help engage my students; help me help them!

The end of the year is quickly approaching and that leaves me to think about how I can better help my students next year. A lot of my students struggle with phonics and reading skills. These activities and materials will give them the extra practice they need to feel confident with their phonic skills and be able to translate that to reading.
