Help me give my students supplies that last, tools for reading and math, so they will know they can count on their classroom to have what they need in order to succeed. We need folders, games and more.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are determined, ambitious, and hardworking sweethearts! They are from a low income area where supplies are limited and hard to come by. My students with disabilities come from a high poverty neighborhood in NYC. Unfortunately, this year has been the first year of many where our budget did not allow for us teachers to receive supplies. This is my first year back in the classroom after many years working as an out-of-classroom provider. We would appreciate any funding that you are willing to donate so that my students can learn with the most available resources. What I most love about my students, is that although they are in 5th grade, and their academic level is on 1st and 2nd grade level, they don't quit!!! They come everyday to class with a smile, ready to learn and face their challenges. The key to special education is a variety of tools. For example, colored paper, organizational supplies, educational games for reading and math, and other supplies that make it possible for them to succeed and manage their learning better. We would really appreciate your help.
My Project
Students who have learning disabilities and weaknesses in executive function frequently struggle to keep track of the tools they need for schoolwork. Having color-coordinated folders for each subject, notebooks, handouts, and homework in specially designated areas in the classroom is essential for my students. It helps them learn to manage their materials, First, efficient access to needed materials allows more time-on-task for learning. Second, good organizational skills contribute to students' feelings that they are in control of their learning. My students will also greatly benefit from the reading and mathematical games. It will increase their engagement and social skills. I truly believe that it will create excitement and interest about learning to read and help them to overcome their math ANXIETY by increasing their motivation for trying to solve problem again and again when they are not successful - together with their peers.
