Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a few weeks away from the last day of school and my students are ready to bask in the sun and enjoy unstructured activities. My students have worked so hard to prepared themselves for state assessments and one way to relax and reduce their anxiety is by providing them with activities that lets them learn and enjoy our environment.
Time with nature goes beyond the physical activity it provides, it helps students develop problem-solving skills, healthy habits and builds their confidence.
Gardens and clean green areas brings us joy, for this project I am asking for materials to clean up our playground as well as river rocks to paint and spread our kindness through a painted rock garden. All those rocks are heavy to move around so we will be needing a wagon to haul our materials in and out of our classroom. Once we finish my students can play soccer and enjoy a small snack to keep their growing bodies energized and productive. To keep my students leaning about our Green spaces we also need books to add to our classroom library.
