We Need to Write! Help Us with New Computers!

My students need laptops to write essays. Almost all of them are juniors and will apply to college very soon. I hope to develop their writing skills with these Chromebooks.

My Students

My students are incredibly motivated and love to learn. Our school is located in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood, which is typically in the news for less than ideal reasons. In contrast, there is good in Englewood, and we see our school as one gem of the community. Our students surpass expectations each year by overcoming poverty and violence to eventually be admitted into some of our nations' most prestigious colleges.

For the current school year, all my students are either in AP or Honors Language and Composition.

These are classes that focus on writing. Please help them develop their writing skills with much needed laptops.

My Project

I currently teach almost all juniors. It is a pivotal year with the SAT and college around the corner. With new laptops, my students will be able better learn the writing process through drafting, editing, and revisions. They will utilize Google Classroom to submit work where I can provide immediate feedback. Without this technology, the pace of their writing growth will be stunted. Almost all writing today is completed electronically. How can my students write electronically without a basic computer? Please consider donated to help my students develop their writing skills to both get them into college and succeed upon admittance. Thanks in advance for your help!
