My Students
Working at a title one campus where there are high rates of free breakfast and lunch, most of my students come from low economic standing families. Many of my students are very limited to the world around them and I want them to know the world is much larger then Houston, Texas. I have multiple students that were affected by the hurricane and I am hoping I can lift their spirits with my awesome under the sea themed classroom.
As I go into my 2nd year of teaching I'm that more excited to help my new little kindergarten ocean buddies learn how to read, write, solve math problems, be a good friend, and most importantly become kind hearted children.
<3 My wish for them is to grow up knowing they can chase their dreams and achieve anything they set their minds to! The sky is the limit!
My Project
Hello my fellow donors! We kinder fishes are ready to get our work work work on in reading and writing! We are asking for more writing materials to use during our workstation rotations to improve handwriting, reading, and writing independently. Some of the feedback I've received this year is my students need to work on forming complete sentences. They tend to not capitalize or use spaces in their writing, BUT with your help, the writing prompt journals can change that! The journal comes with 50 DIFFERENT writing prompts and provides them with sight words to use and allows them to draw to support their writing, yay! I am asking for the beginning, middle, and end pop word centers to help my students sound out missing parts of the words. In kindergarten, one of the most important skills they learn is blending CVC words, and these will help! With the purchase of the sight word puzzles, it will help my kids who are struggling to break the words apart and sound them out. I can really use the mini answer boards to check for understanding when my students are at the carpet with me! For example, I can ask them to sound out CAT - and then have them write it on their board! Lastly, I could really use the fine motor games to help my struggling students who still need the extra help with learning how to use their tiny hands.
