My Students

Do you remember how hard it was to sit in a classroom and learn? This is a reality for many students. To learn they need movement and sensory integration.

We are a community of 30 first graders in a Title I school in Oregon.

Our school population is 77% free and reduced-price lunch. Many of our students do not have books in the home. Our district does not give a classroom budget for teachers to purchase supplies or materials for the classroom.

My Project

Sensory integration will allow my students to focus on their work while achieving their first grade goals. The sit and move cushions and therapy bands will allow my students to move while sitting. The other items will address my students' various sensory needs.
