My Students

My fifth grade students will be embarking on a new experience this year! They will be moving from room to room for subject areas. Students will come to me for one section of their Reading. During the day, I will be able to impact about 150 students with Reading instruction.

My fifth grade students come from a low income home environment, typically with limited access to school supplies.

I plan for my classroom to become a safe environment where they aren't nervous about making sure they are prepared. I want to be able to supply them with the necessary materials to be successful during the day.

My Project

These materials will help my student to be on track during the day. Sometimes when students don't have their materials for class, they get nervous and behavior issues arise. These donations to my class would allow my students to be prepared and ready for the day, without worry. Our classroom budget only allows for some of these supplies to be purchased, otherwise it comes out of my own money. I appreciate you taking the time to look at the project and considering helping my students.

My students don't often have the necessary materials throughout the day because some parents are unable to provide them.

School supplies tend to add up and parents don't always have the financial ability to purchase everything needed. Students often rely on their teachers to supply them with pencils and items needed for class. The pencils and pencil sharpener will be stationed at two places in my room to make for easy access. The highlighters will allow students to highlight articles to prepare them for finding important information in their testing. The mechanical pencils, colored pencils and staples will be used in students' writing. The cardstock will be used for phrases to assist students in strengthening their reading.
