"Ready for New Math Tigers?" is what I always ask my math students from grades one through 5 every single day. They always answer with a resounding "Yes Ma'am!" I always remind them that "Math is the problem, thinking is the solution!"
I enter each class with a cheerful spirit to get them pumped about learning math because after the destruction Hurricane Irma left our community and the new influx of students affected by Hurricane Maria, our students need all the positive reinforcement they can get!
My school has a high number of students who are English Language Learners, and there are a few who are receiving special education services and/or gifted. Even though we have to cater for and adapt to such a wide range of learning needs, we know that all children will learn if given the right tools and technology (and teachers who care). As their math lead teacher and school-wide math coach, one of my main objectives are to facilitate the students I serve using the most up-to-date technology in math, while improving and enhancing their learning experience.
My students need a document viewer for math presentations. The resource I am requesting will not only assist my students in class but also serve as an enhancement as we will be using top-of-the-line technology in the math classroom. The document camera will make teaching with technology much easier as students will be able to highlight their own work and discoveries in the classroom and share what they have done with the entire class.
With the ability to capture and project math problems and concepts, we can bring math to life as students can now project their thoughts and hard work for all to see.
My students will have more hands-on experience in my classroom as their presentations will come alive when we problem solve and discover thanks to your generosity.
