My Students
My classroom has been deeply affected by the coronavirus pandemic. My children are learning at home many of them without a stable Internet connection or enough devices for each child in the family to complete their schoolwork. We are currently working to get each child their own computer but are struggling. I am trying to use every resource imaginable to ease the strain and support the learning and love that used take place in my classroom.
My Project
Since schools have been shut down, I have been working to develop new and innovative ways to engage my students with applications and websites the students can use remotely. An iPad would allow me to quickly add and remove students from many different websites and platforms for reading, math and science support. An iPad would also let me monitor student data and adjust grouping so that students' needs are being met to the absolute best of my ability. For example, having an iPad would allow me to access data from our online reading website to see which students are struggling with which parts of the lesson so, provide face-to-face video chat support and adjust the peace of the lesson for each individual student.
