My Students

Help my students to join the 21st century. My students need to experience all the wonderful interactive websites and tools that are available.

I have a great group of third graders.

They are energetic, kind-hearted and excited to learn. Our school is in a small, rural town in Idaho. Many of our students come from financially struggling families, and many do not have access to computers or Internet at home.

My Project

After recently taking several technology classes, I realize how behind the times we our at my school. There are so many educational advantages to having updated computers and equipment to aid teachers in teaching to the best of their ability. Using the wide array of educational sites and tools that are available to enhance existing lessons would greatly benefit both students and teachers. I would be able to project many different lessons on the white board so all students could see and participate. We would be able to use this technology in every academic area from reading and math to science and even art. For example, we could learn about nouns, multiplication, solar system and more! With my struggling readers group, we could work on fluency and comprehension together in fun ways. We could even use fun tools like online timers to keep track of their words read in one minute.

Adding a Mimio Teach and tablet to my teaching choices would be amazing.

I would be able to engage students with colorful, interactive games, videos, lessons, websites, and power point presentations that are unavailable otherwise. I believe adding this technology would only enhance the educational experience for my third graders for years to come.
