This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a small school with students from Pre-K through fifth grade. Students at our school are culturally diverse and come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. Our students also have diverse learning needs. Students at our school range from having special needs to being gifted.
Our students are the future.
They have a love of learning. They strive to be successful. They will be our future artists, engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and authors. Students at our school especially love using technology, but have little or no access to it in the classroom.
My Project
It has been about ten years since our school has had a functioning computer lab. Most of our classrooms do not have computers that students can use. We have recently received a cart of Chromebooks to help us realize our dream of opening our computer lab again. We have tables that we can set the computers on, but every time a class goes into our computer lab they must borrow chairs from nearby classrooms. The chairs that we are requesting in this project will give us new chairs that can remain in our computer lab. The chairs will help complete our computer lab. Not having to borrow chairs from other classrooms will increase the time each class can dedicate to using the computers.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
