My students are learning in how to take pride in our classroom and how to treat our classroom materials respectfully. I explain to them how many of the things we have in our classroom have come from generous donations from the past and that the students have taken care of them in order for them to use the materials this school year. That way, they will do the same for the next group of students.\r\nThe trash cans look so much nicer than the ones we had before and help us to keep our classroom clean. The supply caddies have been a great addition, as I save time in passing out materials. Students have scissors, glue sticks and whatever else I need to put in there for them to use. Plus the caddies are the same color as their table teams. The magnetic shelves are sturdy and nice. I am able to keep books, flash cards, as well as papers to pass out in the shelves. \r\nThe new timer is much louder than the previous one which makes clean-up time smoother. Of course the birthday crowns are loved by the students. The Julia Cook books have not only taught my students various social skills, but my class found them quite delightful and entertaining. With the various heritage months, the cultural books have added value to our lessons and the students' understanding of the Native American, Hispanic and Latino, and Asian American people. Our chapter books and graphic novels were of high interest of the students and very popular to check-out from our classroom library.\r\n\r\nI often read aloud and read most of books before the end of the year.
