We Need Props and Costume Pieces for Hairspray!

Help me give my students with getting props and costume pieces for our production of Hairspray!

My Students

Ninety-five percent of our student population qualifies for free lunch. A lot of our students have been classified by others as being troubled, but they have grown to love our theater department.

They are diamonds in the rough and are always looking for ways to entertain an audience.

Their grit has challenged me to be more creative in how I present opportunities. It has been great watching them blossom from improvisation to wanting to create their own works. My students are amazing.

My Project

We are participating in the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards an we are producing the musical "Hairspray." Our community has been wanting to tell this story and we now have the talent to be able to do so.

We need the following costumes pieces for the characters of our show: nerd glasses, auburn wig, auburn colored bouffant, tiara crown, curlers, sashes, class ring, whistles, fake doughnuts, and wood stakes for posters .

We also need a women's scrub dress, house dress, and rope.

The experiences of the competition will help our students understand the importance of reading a play for comprehension, teamwork, empathy, and resilience which will enable them to college and career ready.
