This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The infectious laughter and giggles of my 23 kindergarten students can be heard even before you reach my classroom. They are sweet, funny and the best 5 year olds anyone can have the pleasure of meeting.
My school is a Title I school in a low income neighborhood.
Most of my students are English Language Learners. Most of them have siblings in the same school. My students love to learn and create and are curious of just about everything you could think of.
My Project
There are so many activities you could use play dough for! In my classroom, aside from the wonderful art creations and sculptures that they will be making later in the year, my students will be using the play dough for building the basic foundations of letter and sound knowledge. They will be using the play dough to form letters and once they can write and recognize the letters, they will use the play dough to form words.
This play dough is going to be such an asset to my classroom and our literacy center time.
As simple as it sounds, by having this play dough you will be helping a child build a learning foundation in literacy that will last them a lifetime. Wouldn't you want to be part of that? Please consider helping us out!
