My Students

My student's school is located in a small tight-knit town in Pahoa on the Big Island of Hawaii. Our school is considered to be a low-income and high-poverty community in which all students are provided with free breakfast and lunch. For most of my Kindergartners, this will be their first time attending school since some students opted out of pre-k due to COVID.

My Project

From the beginning of the school year, my students have essentially been using the same crayons, expo pens, whiteboards, glues, and more! However, supplies can easily go missing or broken, especially in a Kindergarten classroom. This year, I would like to gift my students new pencil pouches (as some do not have school boxes), earphones for our iPads, liquid glue, NEW crayons, paint so we can get creative in the classroom, and of course, a handwriting workbook which will be gifted to each student as a way for them to practice their letters, numbers, shapes, during independent work time or at home. My kids deserve new supplies to use on a daily basis.
