The pelon, dye, and cotton string have become essential materials for creating our May Day costumes. Students have been learning how to give their garments structure with pelon, mix and apply dye to achieve bright, meaningful colors, and use cotton string to assemble pieces with care and precision. This hands-on work has turned into a rich learning experience where students practice patience, craftsmanship, and cultural appreciation while bringing their costumes to life. One memorable moment was when a small group proudly held up their first dyed fabric piece—they couldn't believe they made something so vibrant on their own!\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, our students were buzzing with excitement. They eagerly unpacked each item and immediately began imagining how everything would come together for the performance. The red carpet was the biggest surprise—students lit up when they realized they would have a grand entrance on May Day. It made them feel seen, celebrated, and truly special. They've already practiced walking down it during rehearsal, and you can feel their confidence grow with every step.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve finalizing costume pieces, practicing our choreography, and preparing our presentation space. The materials you helped fund are making the entire experience more meaningful and polished. Students are learning not just how to make something beautiful, but how to work together, honor cultural traditions, and take pride in their work. Thanks to your generosity, our May Day celebration will look and feel more special than ever, and our students will shine on stage with confidence and joy.","fullyFundedDate":1759453087473,"projectUrl":"project/may-day-court-attire-pe-supplies/9776755/","projectTitle":"May Day Court Attire & P.E.
