My Project
As a teacher, I always underestimate how many supplies we use on a daily basis. I try to make my lessons as hands-on and engaging as possible, and that requires a lot of manipulatives and materials for my students to use. A few items we use frequently are whiteboards and clipboards. I teach my whole group instruction with my students on the rug but I want them to be actively practicing skills while I am demonstrating on the board. This way they are all within my view and I can help them immediately if they need assistance. I have been storing my whiteboards and clipboards in a huge box and it takes so much time to have students file into line, wait their turn and grab their whiteboard/clipboard and sit down. This procedure always takes longer than I would like which takes away from learning time.
I would love to make things as efficient as possible by having students keep their whiteboards/clipboards at their chair.
This way there is no pushing, shoving or arguing about who gets which one. Since we only have tables in my classroom, I would love students to be able to store things right behind their chair. This way they don't have to leave their seat and everything is easy to locate. I think that having that extra option for storage will really help with efficiency in our classroom so we can spend less time waiting and more time learning.
