Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Math, reading, science: these are typical subjects you can expect our students to learn about every day. However, all of our students have special needs and in our school, we learn about one more thing - behavior skills!

Did you know that a PBIS system improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate?

That's why in our school, we use a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system to teach our students behavior skills. PBIS is a program for preventing and reducing difficult behaviors by encouraging our students to make respectful, kind, considerate and safe choices every day! It is a great way to create positive and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.

One major way our school partakes in PBIS is by offering our students school bucks each time they display a respectful or kind behavior. Our students can then redeem their "money" for super fun items in the school store. We previously did another project asking for similar products and it was a HUGE success! Our students absolutely LOVED earning their "money" in order to browse the fabulous products.

However, our school store has been in low stock for quite some time and we need your help to stock it back up with motivating and exciting toys/prizes!

Our kids will definitely look forward to going on their weekly shopping trip to the school store with these new items. Once our scholars see these amazing Sonic plushies, Squishmallows, Pokemon toys, snacks and other items they will surely be motivated to earn more school dollars.
