This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Free Choice is an essential and favorite part of the day for my students. Not only is free play an outlet for children to express their emotions and feelings, they are also learning and practicing crucial skills that will teach them how to safely navigate life and lead happy, healthy, and productive lives.

When my students are allowed to make their own decisions on what activities they can play or which centers they can visit, it gives them a feeling of control.

Children are not often in control of things in their life, so giving them choices can be very empowering.

My students can work on skills that they are good at or trying something different to build more skills. Giving them more choices like this doll house and castle to choose from will allow my students to continue to learn new skills and have fun while doing it.
