Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every school day provides new experiences for my students and they are always eager to learn more about the world around them. Students come into kindergarten at all different levels but need to leave equally prepared for first grade. Our classroom needs the resources to make this happen!
My students are inquisitive and energetic individuals who bring excitement to each day.
They love to work and play together and are building the foundation for a lifetime of learning. The hard-working staff and caring families at our school work together and are committed to the success of our students.
My Project
Kindergarten is the foundation for all schooling and Kindergarteners learn so much in a year. They learn how to be part of the greater world and a wide variety of academic concepts. Quality literature can help them build both lifelong literacy skills and well as strong social-emotional skills.
Teaching with read-alouds that present various social situations will help my students think about and learn how to respond to these situations in their own lives.
Mentor texts provide models and examples for all the skills my students learn in Reading and Writing Workshop. In addition, listening to stories is something my students love to do!
