Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students at my Middle School are from extremely diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds, many of which are immigrants, first-generation Americans, and/or below the poverty line. They bring a variety of perspectives and histories to our classroom.
This year, we've hired a second music teacher, massively expanding students' access, as well as the frequency with which they'll have music class.
In order to facilitate that change and to ensure that every student has the ability to learn and grow, we need 15 new keyboards! I, as a teacher, have the philosophy that if given the opportunity, any student, regardless of background, has the ability to succeed. With your help, these students will!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
