My Students
I teach second grade in an awesome school district. My students have varied levels of learning. Our classroom is a very inviting atmosphere where all students can learn in their own way! We are a Title One school with the majority of our students on free or reduced price lunches.
Each student is unique and special in their own way and I am amazed by their positive attitudes towards learning!
They are very kind to their classmates, loving to their teacher and respectful to everyone they meet.
My Project
These iPads will help my students exercise in the classroom when we have inside recess or when we need to take a brain break. Right now, we watch a movie during inside recess. My students need to get some energy out during inside recess, especially when we have to be inside two or three days. We will be having a lot of these during the winter months! We will be using an app called Sworkit. Sworkit will help my students with strength, agility, balance and flexibility. With Sworkit, I can set a timer for five minute brain breaks in the morning and afternoon each day. Brain breaks are short, energizing bursts of activity that boost blood flow and send oxygen to the brain. They will help my students better retain information. Brain breaks will increase my students' on-task behavior and the amount of physical activity they get everyday so it's a win-win!
