We Need Headphones, Please

Help me give my students 30 good working and comfortable headphones to access the read aloud options on their Chromebooks.

My Students

I am a special education teacher at a Title I school. My third through fifth grade students come to my resource classroom for 30-60 minutes daily for reading and math support. I serve students with learning disabilities, autism, developmental delays, attention or hyper activity disorders, or other health impairments. Many of them struggle with independent reading. They work hard and they are excited and eager to learn. Computers are used daily throughout our school, so luckily, the computer is able to read aloud most programs.

This could get pretty noisy without headphones.

I've tried to keep enough decent headphones in my class for students to use when needed but little by little, my headphone supply has dwindled.

My students are in need of good working and comfortable headphones so they can listen to assignments and assessments being read aloud to them on their Chromebooks without distracting others.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of headphones. Many of my students struggle with reading. Directions and word problems can be read aloud to them by the computer but can be very distracting in class without headphones. Students can use headphones for listening to audible books, learning videos, and activities during class. They can even use them during online district and state testing.

I've tried to keep a supply of headphones in my class but my supply has dwindled over time.

I think a good quality set of headphones will work better and last longer than the less expensive kind I have been supplying.

I allow my students to check out headphones for the day to be used in their general education classrooms but they do not take them home. These headphones would only be used at school.
