We Need Headphones and Earphones to Focus!

Help me give my students headphones that will facilitate them in learning in any environment. My students are in desperate need of these headphones to help them focus on their work at home and at school.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is composed of 55 fifth-graders in a general education class, with students with IEP and ELL learners and special education students, who may have autism.

A typical day in my classroom looks active.

My students are engaged in learning activities that get them moving, talking to their peers, and asking great questions. You will not see a lot of worksheets in my classroom. My students are learning through hands-on experiences.

I teach in a Title I school.

My fifth-grade students come from very diverse families. I am excited to share that my school is a genuinely diverse community. Not only do students come from varying ethnic backgrounds and places, but the life experiences that they’ve had are incredibly unique. My scholars are creative, thoughtful, and full of excitement!

My students are 9 and 10-year children that love coming to school. When school was closed in the spring of 2020, due to the pandemic, not only were the kids wanting to come back, but we missed seeing their smiling faces every day.

My Project

Oh, how wonderful it would be for my students to receive their headphones, earphones, to support them in their learning to be focused. I researched the best headphones for noise cancelation and with the microphone on the headset. The students that will be receiving these headphones are in desperate need of these tools. Some of my students live with other family members in the same apartment. They say that they can't focus because too many people are talking or they can't speak because their microphone doesn't work.

This week made me decide to request these tools for them.

In addition to that, I have students that live in shelters and share the room with other people, and other students are also learning with live instruction. They need headphones that can cancel noise to be able to focus.

The Apple AirPods, Beats headphones, earphones, and headphones over-the-ear headphones will help me give my students a better learning experience. The sound quality from the Chromebook isn’t always good, so having AirPods, Beats headphones, earphones, and over-the-ear headphones will allow my students to focus and listen to the lesson and services they receive.

Students these days are required to be technologically competent and we are requesting headphones for the students to reach their goals. They will be able to use them daily to work on iReady Math and other websites with our classroom iPad

Having wireless headphones will help my students use the iPad in the classroom without disrupting their classmates.
