This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My library services 500 students in both regular and bilingual classes. They love reading, coding, adventure, and learning. Whether it's through recommending them their next favorite book, teaching them a new robot move, or the excitement of a new invention, I try to make the library a sanctuary of exploration and inspiration.
Our students are curious and energetic young minds looking for opportunities to be readers, creators, and inventors.
Our elementary school is one of the largest elementary schools in our school district. We are a Title I school and over half of our students come from low-income homes, which means they often don't have the opportunities and resources available to higher-income families.
My Project
These three book series from Capstone are hardcover, library bound sets of beginning chapter book series. We need more diverse books and more beginning chapter book series that reflect the cultures at our school. These series are high interest books that do just that.
Our school is very diverse and our books need to reflect that.
These three series will be a great addition to our school library and will be available and featured for all children. The characters are compelling and students will want to pick them up again and again!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
