We Need Creativity in Our Lives!

My Project

I think of my students as diamonds. They are bright and shiny and each of them is unique in their own special way. They have very curious, creative, and hungry minds. As a whole, we are a team. We think as a team, work as a team, and we make decisions as a team.

My Diamonds come from low to no income and either live with their grandparents, or other family members because they are either homeless or transient.

But despite their struggles, they love school. I make it my mission to give them what they need to be academically successful. Funding is not what it used to be for teachers everywhere. Unfortunately, budget cuts mean we don't get enough supplies that we need throughout the year.

Mental health plays a big part with each of my students. They have a lot going on in their lives and the need activities to help them express themselves and get their mind clear of personal things that weigh on their minds daily.

The beads are so that they can make bracelets or a necklace and wear it everyday. The stickers are for them to turn their projects into 3D or add words. The hangers, they can decorate and take it home and hang it up where they can see it daily.

Art is my students' escape. They love it, but we have ran out of supplies. My Diamonds would be so excited to receive these materials. They love to Bedazzle and personalize anything.
