My students need chairs. Their desks are older than they are. The desks are broken and I have to wrap material and tape around the broken metal. Some kids have been cut by this.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing. They have IEPs and some challenges. But they show up everyday through the good and the bad. Our neighborhood is 97% Latino and most of our students have major financial needs. Most of my students have never really been to a museum or been exposed to things outside of Pomona.
Our special education program received a Golden Ribbon award for having an excellent and inventive program.
Our students work hard and never give up. I have had 100% graduation rates with students on my caseload for the three years I have been at Ganesha. These kids strive everyday and unfortunately are not given much for it.
My Project
My students need desks and chairs. This request is for chairs. The student combination desk/chairs we have are broken, and sadly enough desks have collapsed with students sitting in them. We really need seats and desks. My students work hard and see the condition of their chairs and desks and ask me why is it like this? We are supposed to be technologically advanced and their teacher doesn't even have chairs and tables that are safe for them. My students question how the school can be so run down. I have requested furniture several times and have been told no. Please help my students feel good about their class!
