This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting 15 copies of The Outsiders to replace the beat up ones I have been using for many years and I am also requesting a few graphic novels to add to my bookshelf. With your support, I hope to add books to my classroom library to motivate students to pick up a book and read. My project includes books that not only my students have requested but are also as engaging and diverse as the students that I teach.
Reading increases our understanding of our own identity, improves empathy, and gives us an insight into the worldview of others.
With your support, my students will have access to engaging books and, in turn, will promote the love of reading.
