This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

With continued effort and improvement in reading students get to see their rocket ship move up to another reading level on our visual tracker. The problem is that we do not have leveled books, so it is hard for my students to choose books on their level.

I teach an energetic, loving group of 2nd graders.

They love to read, do math, science, and all other subjects. They love coming to school everyday, and are disappointed if we have to miss a lesson for special visitors or assemblies. They are invested in their learning and every single one of them can tell you what they want to be when they grow up. They know that hard work leads to success. And they are working hard to get to college!

My Project

I am requesting a leveled book library to help increase my students reading level and love for reading. My students will be able to take more responsibility for their learning by being able to select books on their reading level. The more they read on their level, the quicker they will be able to move to the next level. These books will help further their love for reading by providing new and interesting titles.

This project is important to improving my student's reading ability.

With a little over three months left of school, it is crucial for many of them to increase their reading level, in order to be prepared for 3rd grade. Please help contribute to the success of early readers.
