We Need Arts And Crafts Books!

My students need 11 arts and crafts books, including "Paper Aiplanes" and "Easy Origami."

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Sumida's classroom raised $295

This project is fully funded

My Students

Drawing...painting...cooking...origami...all popular activities in my school. Help us update our arts and crafts section! Books in this section are over twenty years old and yet this is one of the most widely used sections in the school.

I am a teacher librarian at an elementary school that services many Navy and Army families in Hawaii.

The library is the center of encouraging literacy on our Preschool-6th grade campus. About half of the students at my school are military dependents who move locations every three years.

My Project

Children enjoy arts and crafts books to help them learn and experiment with new hobbies and skills. These "how-to" books inspire children to create their own works of art and objects to use in their daily lives. National Common Core Standards emphasize the importance of understanding informational literature. Students must learn how to follow directions whether making origami creations, paper airplanes, drawing characters, or baking cupcakes.

Your donations will help my school nurture future artists, painters, and chefs.

These arts and crafts books will allow students to try new activities. Students will also become lifelong learners utilizing these examples of functional literature for their recreational reading.
