Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We need arts and crafts so that we can learn our letters and numbers! We are on our way to college. All of my students will tell you that they are on the road to college and want to learn and "get smart" in order to get to college. They are four year old in a Pre-Kindergarten program at a high-need community school. The entire school is a "college preparatory academy" where all students have the desire to get to college. I instill this idea in the four-year-old so they know from the very beginning of their education that they are on their way to college.

I have no art supplies for students to use in my classroom. I am a first year teacher and there is little funding for art supplies.

It is imperative for students in an early childhood setting to do hands-on activities to learn. The activities need to be developmentally appropriate and using and making different things with tactile objects will allow students to maximize their learning. The students need simple supplies like glue, crayons, etc. These supplies will be used on a daily basis.

These students are on their way to college and are learning the basic skills that they will use throughout their education. You will make it possible for my students to make and use different art supplies to increase their literacy and math skills while being creative and having fun!
