Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have about 16 different classes of wonderful advanced students ranging from Pre K to 8th grade. All of these students truly enjoy learning and deserve the resources they need. I find it quite important to have multiple different materials available to be able to engage my students and have them learn about the different types of art. My students come to school enthusiastic and ready to learn, but they crave fun and exciting ways to learn. If we had these additional resources, it would allow my students to be more invested in learning and help them tremendously!
My Project
I have hundreds of students that would significantly benefit from all of these items. The Pre-K - second would benefit from the paint sticks, popsicle sticks, scissors, feathers, pom moms, crayons, rulers, stencils, pony beads, and cleaning materials. All students would benefit from extra glue, paint brushes, poster paper, halloween crafts, blank stationary notecards, and gold spray paint. students that need hands on materials to help keep them engaged and interested. There are so many interesting art projects that focus on specific elements and that require specific art materials. I want to get kids excited about art and in order to do that- we need materials! We need paints, craft sticks, colored sand, art paper, poster, markers and other crafts to use for creating our art. These are not huge investments but will definitely make a huge difference in the lives of my students! I feel my students need differentiated learning materials in order to reach them in many different ways as possible. For this reason, I also want to add more useful materials that range so my students can pick which is best for them.
The donations to my project will help improve the types of art projects that we are able to create and they will help get kids excited about creating art!
