I admire the tenacity of my multiage students. My students are driven by an innate curiosity to make new friends and to share stories about their lives. I applaud my courageous collectors of knowledge because they have overcome adversity in education and life. Most of the students are bilingual and receive free or reduced-price lunch.
We are a Title I school and we have close to five hundred students ranging from pre-k through fifth grade, all coming from mixed backgrounds.
As a school, we encourage project-based learning, and makerspace activities for students to have unique learning experiences.
I teach a multi-age classroom that includes students in fourth and fifth grades.
My Project
Virtual teaching is hard enough, but virtually teaching students how to divide and how to multiply and divide fractions is even harder. I need an iPad so that I can better annotate what we are doing in class.
My students are used to being able to have manipulatives in from of them to figure things out, and they don't this year.
Having an iPad I can more clearly draw and demonstrate using the touchscreen. Having to use the mouse and keyboard makes things a lot harder and tedious. The iPad would make a huge difference in math class!
