This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students

My school is a Title I school and most of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Our World Language Department lacks technology. We have to share our only Elmo camera among 6 teachers. A document reader help with lessons, but it would introduce them to the world of technology. Additionally, some of my students have special needs and the ability to enlarge text for them would be invaluable.
My Project
I am begging for an Elmo document reader so that I can enlarge primary sources for them to look at and read. I have access to an overhead projector. With our budget cuts it is not meeting my needs because the transparency sheets are expensive and because of our advancement in technology, it is outdated. I'm allow to use an Elmo every 5 weeks but if I have full access to one, I will be able to reach students with different learning modalities, thereby increasing their chance for success. I already have a digital projector to show images on my screen, so all I need is the Elmo.
An Elmo document reader will be of great help to my students.
We can do so much and facilitate teaching and learning. They will be able to appreciate vivid visuals and teach each other with the latest technology.
