This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 3rd-grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.
Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.
As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.
My Project
As we are coming out of a year of distance learning, it is more important than ever that students are given every opportunity to access the material presented to them. With the easel, I will be able to teach whole group lessons, utilizing the whiteboard for examples and other visuals, and the felt board for more of a dramatic visual of the standards. I will also be able to call smaller groups to the easel to give more remediation or present greater challenges, all on the students' levels.
By making a donation to this project, you will be allowing all of the students to have an easier and more varied way to access the curriculum.
The students will be able to focus their attention on one small area, instead of a huge whiteboard. The students will also be given greater and more meaningful small group instruction, as I will be able to write the ideas out in front of them on a large scale, instead of on a piece of paper (like I do now!)
