My Students

My students love, love, love to "read". They have several favorite stories that I must read 100's of times throughout the school year. One of my goals throughout the year is to instill the love of learning and reading within each of my students. Reading Big Books is one way to do that!

My students are amazing!

They have a love of learning and a love for each other! I would love to push them as far as they can go before they move on to kindergarten. By having them ready for Kindergarten it will give them a jump start to being a life long learner and someone who loves school! My school is very diverse and it is wonderful! There are so many different cultures, values and beliefs it is incredible! I love spending time with the students not just in my class but the older kids as well, I learn a lot from them! Students as well as teachers look out for each other at school. We are all team players and have each others best interest at heart. I would love to be able to give my students everything to help them succeed inside and outside of the classroom. With these new materials I can give them a better classroom and new experiences!

My Project

We have a few big books in our classroom that have been used a lot over the past few years. I would love to continue to enrich student learning with several more classic big books that I know they will enjoy! Reading is the foundation and by giving students books that they love and enjoy what a great motivation that is for learning! We will use these books on a weekly if not daily basis. We have time for free reading, in which they are able to choose whatever books they would like to look at. Of course the several big books that we have are well loved and some of our favorites! I would love to be able to share several more big books with my students so they can enjoy more stories on an XL scale.
