This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are on the autism spectrum and have different needs. Due to the nature of their disabilities, it is difficult for them to communicate and regulate their emotions, they often need sensory input breaks to help them calm down and release energy. A spinner, trampoline, bilibo, exercise ball, and sensory pin toy will help my students get the sensory and vestibular input they seek and help them regulate their tiny bodies. This will also teach them how to identify and communicate when they are feeling overstimulated so that they can learn better.
