My students need a rug so that they can learn together on the floor.

My Students

Do you like to sit at a desk all day in one spot? No? Neither do my second graders!

Students in my classroom are a diverse mix of ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds.

Despite their learning disparities, they try their best each and every day. They come to school excited and ready to learn, and look forward to a common meeting area where we build an inclusive community that bridges their differences.

My Project

In order to keep their focus, they can't do all of their learning in desks, and they shouldn't have to. With the addition of a classroom rug, my students will be able to have a soft, designated spot where they can engage in more intimate learning. The rug will allow for rejuvenated focus as they get to learn in a different area of the classroom.

I am a first year teacher and cannot afford a rug for my students, however much I believe it is necessary.

With your donations, my students will enjoy learning together as a group on the floor and will be able to retain their focus throughout the school day.
