A crucial part of any science experiment is the presentation of data collected. I teach 7th Science, 8th Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Our school is a very small school with many high need students. Many of my students are low income and do not have technology in their homes. I also teach special education students and students who are learning English as their second language. I teach gifted and talented students as well.
My students love to do science experiments. In many of the experiments, the students will collect data or need to do further research on a topic. My students have access to six computers in the classroom, but they do not have a printer in the room. The only printer is located on the other end of the building. This is a problem because when the students need to print a graph or table for their experiment, they have to walk down the hall to get their paper. Walking down the hallway disturbs other classes and takes valuable time away from the students. Students need to be analyzing their data quickly and not having to walk down the hall to get the paper they printed.
I have selected a printer to help solve this problem. The printer would be installed in the classroom so the students could print data and retrieve it without bothering other classes or wasting class time. The printer I have chosen can also print double sided to save on paper usage.
Your support will give my students back their valuable classroom time. A classroom printer would help all students to organize and present their information to their peers. Students can create professional products that will help them to further their education and allow them a better chance to succeed in college.
