The cost of a Hewlett Packard inkjet printer is $503, including shipping and <a target="new" href="http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm" onclick="g_openWindow('http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.
Our class was lucky enough to have just recently received a new computer that is a little more updated than the ones we previously had. Unfortunately, we do not have a printer. While it is great to be able to research the Web and type published pieces of work, there is no way for us to display the work. What we need is a printer.
I teach fourth grade in a Title 1 inner-city school in Brooklyn, New York. During a regular day we learn all subjects but put a real focus on literacy and math due to the state and city exams fourth graders are required to take. We also take a very important hands-on as well as written science exam this year.
We would need a printer that is compatible with a Dell IBM computer so that students can print out important test prep, project-related work, and final copies of papers to display and share. There are twenty-eight students in my class who would be using this printer.
I believe my students would be motivated to complete projects if they were able to print them out. It would also be helpful when doing research or locating testing material for students to be able to print pages out to use for reference or extra help. That is why a printer would be very beneficial to our class.
